For further information on any of our events please contact Janet, Liz or Gloria: CTTA NEWSLETTER - OCTOBER 2009 The AGM and another successful Quiz are behind us, the marmalade and ginger wine are ready to go to Annonay and Backnang later this month - things seem to be running very smoothly for the CTTA. We can now take time to look forward and plan for the Anniversary Celebrations in June next year. It is becoming clear that many hosts will be needed to accommodate all the guests from both twin towns. It should be a superb weekend with the chance to join in many activities in and around Chelmsford - being able to share the experience with a friend from Annonay or Backnang will make it even more special. A hosting list is in preparation and if you can help, please contact Liz. We are also interested in contacting anyone who has taken part in twinning activities over the past 20 years, even if the involvement has lapsed. If you know anyone who would like to join us once again, if just for this anniversary weekend, please ask them to contact Liz. Articles will appear in the local press over the next few months to remind people of the impact made by 20 years of town twinning in Chelmsford. If you have any special memories that you would like to share, please contact Janet.

Members of the CTTA will be meeting up with Backnangers once again for the Strassenfest, ready to enjoy the mix of the festivities plus good times with hosts, and selling plenty of English marmalade of course. We have done this for many years and all usually runs very smoothly, but we must not forget what a great deal of work goes on behind the scenes by those left behind in Chelmsford who make sure that the goods get to Backnang in good time and in one piece.
Next up is the Annonay Gourmandises. Volunteers are still wanted for this popular food festival - the surroundings will not be as warm as the Backnang Strassenfest, but the welcome certainly will be. If you would like to be involved, please contact Liz.
